Haplocoelum inoploeum, synonyms including Haplocoelum trigonocarpum, is a species of plant in the family Sapindaceae. It is found in Kenya, Somalia, and Tanzania.

Description

A shrub or small tree. It grows 2.4-15 m tall. The young shoots have dense brown hairs. The leaves are in tufts on short shoots. They can have 1-2 pairs of opposite leaflets. They are 1-12 cm long by 1-6 cm wide. The fruit are yellow or orange and are 3 sided but become round at maturity. They are 1.2-2 cm long.

Edible Uses

The fruit and leaves are eaten, and the plant is used as a vegetable.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant.
